Years before the likes of the Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii arrived, a German company had launched its own city car: the Volkswagen Fox.
It was the cheapest new VW that money could buy when it was first launched in 2006. It’s smaller than the Volkswagen Polo and comes with three doors including the hatchback boot lid.
The aim was to provide a roomy, easy-to-drive car that was more than at home in city streets but could also cut it when hitting the open road and tackling motorways. VW succeeded on the whole and no matter the cheap purchase price the car was well-built and proved to be reliable.
