Believe it or not the Vectra name has actually been around since 1988, although the first generation of cars was sold over here with Vauxhall Cavalier badges.

This car came in saloon and hatchback models and provided the basis for the Vauxhall Calibra coupe.

The first properly labelled Vectra sold over here was in fact the second of three generations, and hit the streets in 1995.

We had saloon, hatchback and estate versions, as well as sporty V6 equipped variants badged GSi. An inevitable facelift came in 1999 before the Vectra B was ushered off-stage by the new Vectra C in 2002.
