Today’s Suzuki Swift is the latest in a long line of small hatchbacks over the past three decades that have provided inexpensive and fun-to-drive alternatives to the likes of the Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa and Volkswagen Polo.

Previous generations of Suzuki Swift – there have been three before this model – have included a traditional four-door saloon, but the current range comprises of a sportier three-door hatchback and a functional five-door.

Currently the Suzuki Swift is powered exclusively by a range of petrol engines, some of which feature DualJet technology to increase efficiency, but diesel versions have previously been sold too.
