The Jaguar XJ is one of Jaguar’s longest serving saloon cars and was first launched back in 1968 and was dubbed the Jaguar XJ Series 1. It set the trend the Jaguar XJ would follow throughout its life as a premium flag ship saloon of the British company’s car range.
It also built an upmarket model called the Daimler Sovereign that was launched in the same year and featured power-assisted steering and leather interior as standard.
The latest version of Jaguar XJ, first launched in 2010, takes on other premium cars that aim to demonstrate the very best in technology, safety and sheer luxury motoring. So it goes toe-to-toe with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (often seen as the benchmark in this class), Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Lexus LS.
The British company has sought to make its version stand out from the crowd with a very distinctive design that gives it a very modern look. Inside it is very well appointed and certainly feels like it is an upmarket car thanks to panoramic sunroof, leather steering wheel, touch screen sat nav and electrically adjustable and heated front seats on the entry level model.
