The Orlando is Chevrolet’s first entry into the MPV market and it has gone for a classic boxy shape that enables massive interior space.

Although it can’t offer the reputation of its rivals like the Ford’s Grand C-Max, Renault Grand Scenic, or Citroen Grand Picasso, it does have a five year warranty and low asking price.

Engine choice has been restricted to two since the Orlando went on sale in 2011, and these take the form of a 1.8-litre petrol with 138bhp and a 2.0-litre diesel with 129bhp or 161bhp. Diesel power is the better seller thanks to an easier supply of power and better fuel economy, and both promise a sub ten second 0-60mph time.
