The second-generation Skoda Fabia takes the formula of the original model from 2000 and updates it with sleeker looks and even more practicality. As with all Skoda models, the Fabia is well made and good value, while it’s also very comfortable and ideal for town driving.

Buying used

The Fabia is more practical than most and makes a great value buy considering how well equipped most models are. The best cars are mopped up by Skoda dealers and these cars are offered under Skoda's approved used scheme. That means every car has had a mechanical inspection, a check into its history and at least one year’s warranty. It’s the safest way to buy a used car.

Strong demand for small, cheap to run hatchbacks means a ready-made market so there should be few problems selling. The 1.2-litre may be the entry-level engine but it's adequate enough for most buyers. It's also worth emphasising the fact that the Skoda uses VW components under the skin. The Greenline models will always be sought after thanks to cheap road tax and impressive economy.
