Leon is the Volkswagen Golf with a brighter personality and lower pricing. It's the model that announced SEAT had arrived.

Comfort

Rear legroom was never a strongpoint on the Golf MkIV and the Leon has the same problem. It's adequate, but not as good as many. However, as a five-door hot-hatch, the Cupra-R takes some beating.

Practicality

The boot is a good size, but it's slightly tricky to use, because of a high loading sill. Plenty of storage space throughout the cabin - cupholder restricts access to stereo.

Behind the wheel

Anyone who's driven a MkIV Golf should find Leon familiar. Much of the switchgear comes from Volkswagen and the interior ambience owes much to the Golf. The driving position is good, seats supportive (and adjustable) and there's plenty of interior room.
