Parkers Rating:

3 out of 5

The second-generation Primera carried on where the old model left off, which means comprehensive abilities and good value. The way it performed on the road was polished to the point where it was one of the nicest cars in its class to drive. The stylists didn't get too involved in its development and as such its bland design makes it easy to overlook.

But it is a very credible alternative to the Mondeo and Vectra and as a former fleet favourite can be picked up cheaply.

Simple and efficient. Tow bar incredibly easy to fit.

The absolutely huge boot, and the sheer amount of interior space.

Very good balance in terms of being big enough to carry large amounts comfortably but not be impractically large for running about town and also good engine size to be potent enough on the motorways...
