The CLK coupé is excellently engineered throughout and boasts a supremely comfortable ride, while the elegant four-seater’s core design is based upon the fine Mercedes-Benz C-Class series. The supercharged 230K and V6 engines offer potent performance, while the 320 and 430 models mark this out as a highly sought-after vehicle.

The coupe’s front end has been designed to cushion any impacts, through strategically positioned crumple zones, which soften the force of crashes and boost occupant safety. Meanwhile, the CLK coupé comes with front and side airbags, ABS, traction control, and an alarm and immobiliser all as standard - though a tracker device might be advisable for added security.

Trusty and dependable, there shouldn't be too many problems under the bonnet, especially if the pricey servicing is kept up. The Mercedes-Benz engineering promises many trouble free miles, but there is always the risk of the odd electrical hiccup that could flare up.
