The CL is Mercedes-Benz's top of the range coupe model. It is in many ways hard to justify as it offers less practicality than the S-Class and lacks the drop-top abilities of the SL, and all three models offer similar performance.

Emissions summary

With average fuel consumption figures of just 21mpg and emitting 319 g/km CO2, it's no surprise that it gets a rock-bottom eco score. Nonetheless, this is fairly standard for an executive coupé and it performs similarly to the Jaguar XK8 and BMW 6-Series. The only saving grace is that buyers of these sorts of cars tend to do fewer miles per year than those that own average family cars.
