If you want to keep running costs reasonable then the 635d is the model to go for as it can average 41mpg, but the 630i isn't too bad and is capable of 36mpg. BMW servicing isn't cheap but the firm does offer a fixed price package called Service Inclusive. This covers the car for five years or 60,000 miles and costs between £800 and £900 (depending on which model you choose).
