The Audi A5 Cabriolet replaces the convertible version of the A4, though this is a more upmarket car than before. Unlike similar convertibles - such as the BMW 3-Series - Audi has stuck with a fabric roof, keeping weight down and saving valuable boot space.

The Audi A5 hasn't been crash tested yet, but the A4 - with which it shares many components - was awarded the maximum five stars in the more stringent Euro NCAP crash test criteria, introduced in 2009. All A5 models have electronic stability control (ESP) and front and side airbags as standard. Quattro all-wheel drive available on top versions can also help stability in slippery conditions.

Reliability

The A5 shares many of its components with the A4 and in recent years that range has shown very good levels of reliability.
