Used Vauxhall VXR8 (2007 - 2009) Buying & Selling

The VXR8 effectively replaces the Monaro in the Vauxhall line-up but rather than a two-door coupe, this is a four-door saloon. It has the same brutish character though with aggressive looks and a rumbling V8 engine that produces more than 400bhp.

Limited numbers mean you won't be spoiled for choice and you will probably have to travel to find one. The automatic version is more common than the manual and much smoother in everyday use. The 6.2-litre V8 replaced the 6.0-litre in mid 2008 but there's little difference in performance between the two.

The VXR8 isn't an obvious choice for many performance saloon buyers who will doubtless prefer models from BMW or Audi. It has plenty of charm and will certainly appeal to fans of muscular V8 models, but the thirsty engine does it few favours in terms of sales appeal.
