Although well known for its inexpensive four-wheel-drive models, Suzuki is less renowned for its conventional cars. The Swift supermini has sold steadily but is now showing its age, the bigger Baleno was keenly priced and well equipped but sold poorly.

Running costs

Reasonably economical, cheap(ish) to insure and no one pays list price. Not many used examples outside the Suzuki dealer network, so prices remain high. Three-year warranty. Depreciation has not been too bad so far.

Emissions summary

Liana performs well on the eco front. With an average of 178 g/km CO2 across the model line-up, its emissions are quite low for a small family hatchback. It's worth noting that the line-up does not feature any diesel models, which typically produce less carbon dioxide than petrol engines with similar power outputs. The range is not particularly economical, averaging 38 mpg.
