Part family hatch and part SUV, the Skoda Yeti is an unusual model. It's a similar idea to the Nissan Qashqai and combines the user-friendliness and affordability of a hatchback along with the practicality of a four-wheel drive.

Most Yeti models are 4x4s, except the 1.2 TSI which only comes with front wheel drive. The exception is the 110bhp version of the 2.0 TDI which is available with or without four-wheel drive.

If you don't intend on covering long distances or heading off road then the 1.2 TSI is a good choice and very affordable too.

The E is pretty well equipped but it's worth aiming for an S or SE. These are the most common models and get extra features such as alloy wheels, front fog lights and rear electric windows.

The unusual styling of the Yeti will mean it's easy recognisable on the second hand market, but some buyers may not be familiar with the badge compared to older Skoda names such as Octavia and Fabia. Emphasise its large boot, family-friendly cabin and low running costs and it should sell easily.
