For a sports car company Porsche is somewhat conservative. When an ‘all-new’ model is launched a double-take is usually required to differentiate between it and the older model.

Running costs

The standard model is claimed to average 34mpg with the manual gearbox. The PDK automatic should return around 37mpg.The Boxster S is surprisingly frugal too, returning a claimed 32mpg with the six-speed and 35mpg with the PDK. Insurance and maintenance is, as you'd expect, costly.
