For a sports car company Porsche is somewhat conservative. When an ‘all-new’ model is launched a double-take is usually required to differentiate between it and the older model.

Buying used

Boxsters should hold between 51% and 55% of their original value after three years/30,000 miles. This means used buyers should expect to pay higher prices compared to other similar cars. The Boxster is well engineered, however, and if it has been serviced properly you shouldn't be put off by cars with higher mileages. Of course a comprehensive Porsche service history is ideal, as is regular maintenance and care.

Look out for used approved cars direct from Porsche, as they will come with a Porsche warranty. This will give buyers peace of mind and help avoid any unpleasant bills.

Selling

Boxsters sell very easily but they do need to be in perfect condition, with a full service history, in order to get the best price. Buyers will want higher specification cars with options like leather seats and sat nav. Minor dings and scraped wheels should be repaired when the time comes to sell your car. Potential Porsche buyers are typically be very selective, and will steer clear of anything that is slightly below par.
