Toyota Starlet 1.3 CD 3d (1997/P)

Toyota Starlet 1.3 CD 3d (1997/P) - Owner Review

Engine needs to be worked hard at times, but its a city car basically. A fair bit of body roll and doesn't absorb bumps well. Tiring to drive on freeways due to a lot of noise intruding into the cabin

Toyota Starlet (96-99)

Value

4 out of 5

Paid £5200 australian for it which is reasonable, because it was either a toss up between a starlet or a holden barina (Opel Corsa)

Costs

4 out of 5

This car isn't very common and can be a hassle buying service items from a typical auto shop, so some parts need to be bought genuine. tThough most costs are reasonable

Performance

Just basically a city car with a gearbox that's very easy to use

Reliability

4 out of 5

So far hasn't let me down

Mine is the base model Starlet life without the colour coded bumpers and partial wheel trims

Comfort

3 out of 5

Front seats are a little narrow and hard

Who wants to steel this car and there isn't much of a theft rate in Australia

Service

4 out of 5

Have only had it serviced once so far from a dearler and they seemed ok, but felt they could have been better and more courteous to call me to let me know what else needs doing to give them the go ahead

Problems

Bodywork
A few dents but paint work is in good order, carpet has a few holes in the drivers side

Engine
Just needs a few things done to it to make it perform to full potential, and i currently have a mouse live around the engine bay

Gearbox
None, so far

Other
Can't comment just yet
