Saab 9-3 Saloon (02-11)

Summary

4 out of 5

What does this car say about you?
Someone who has thought carefully about the car they want to be seen driving, and who is not happy to 'follow the crowd' with a BMW. Nostalgic for a lost brand.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Several have driven the car and all comment on how pleasurable it is. Cream leather seats are a little impractical with two children, but look lovely.

Would you buy this car again and why?
Absolutely, even despite the end of the Saab marque. Parts seem easy to source; service costs are reasonable; it is relatively economical for a larger car and the twin turbo makes it a blast. It is solid and feels protective. It's a 'handsome' car - I just wish I'd gone for a convertible.

What are you likely to buy next?
Who knows; perhaps an Alfa.

Driving it

5 out of 5

What's it like to drive?
An absolute pleasure to drive. Plenty of poke when needed and as already stated, the seats are so comfortable that journeys of several hours or more leave the driver without any stiffness or aches.

What's it like to park?
Easy. Parking sensors are helpful.

Living with it

3 out of 5

Have you had any problems with the car?
The front suspension springs have needed replacing.

What's most practical about your car?
The large boot space and overall comfort levels are wonderful.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control is useful and the cup holders, to quote Clarkson, are the "best in the world"! A small point, I know, but passengers seem to enjoy hours of pleasure from making them appear!
