Rover 25 (99-05)

Value

3 out of 5

Let down by poor build quality in certain areas, door locks feel cheap, dashboard is bland and lacking LEDs for empty fuel etc... overall average value for a supermini.

Driving

4 out of 5

Poor clutch and gearbox due to slight stiffness when compared to other small vehicles.

Performance

4 out of 5

Excellent performance for engine size and good handling due to sports chassis.

Reliability

5 out of 5

Yet to fail me, touch wood!

Image

5 out of 5

In my opinion, this car is the class leader in image and style, with chrome and wooden trim normally only found in larger prestige vehicles.

Comfort

2 out of 5

Either my legs are to long or the steering wheel is to far forwards. Seats do not offer the best comfort available.

Problems

Infrequent problems with idle reving. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the rev counter stays at approx 1500 revs, but soon returns to normal.

Gearbox
Slightly stiff clutch pedal makes stalling the vehicle in traffic easy.

Other
2 door - catch to move seat forward on passenger side failled.
