Mercedes-Benz A-Class (13-18)

5 out of 5

What does this car say about you?
Someone who is prepared to pay a little extra for quality.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Lots of positive comments - gets lots of looks when out and about. Everyone loves the look and interior and cannot believe how quiet and smooth the ride ride is even on the 17" wheels.

Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes - quality, badge, image.

What are you likely to buy next?
Mercedes Benz - maybe the new C Class.

Buying experience

5 out of 5

Type of dealer you bought from?

Did you buy this car new?

What price did you pay?

When did you buy the car?
February 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?
Long waiting times for the A Class as Mercedes have been caught off guard by how successful this car has been - means very little room for discounts at the dealers but got a few freebies thrown in.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted a premium small car - was a choice between the Audi A3 (boring), the Golf (not much more interesting than the Audi, the BMW 1 Series (ugly and basic inside) or the A Class. The A Class is a very attractive car and the build quality is of a very high level.

What was the dealer like?
Professional and fair - all you can ask.

Driving it

5 out of 5

What's it like to drive?
The CDI 200 is an amazing engine - smooth, powerful and with a real roar as you push on. Handling is great and the suspension on the Sport model is fine - not too hard like has been mentioned elsewhere although the AMG themed models do have the stiffer suspension so be aware of that. Very, very good.

What's it like to park?
Limited visibility out the back window and the bonnet is large and difficult to see but generally fine.

Have you had any problems with the car?
Not a thing (only a month old mind).

What's most practical about your car?
Plenty of room inside with a decent boot.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Light and sight package that comes as standard with the sport model - car looks amazing at night in the cabin.
