Mazda RX-8 (03-10)

The car is very good value for money, but i have the exterior fins refitted 3 times now due to corrosion problems

Service cots are very low at £ 109 for the 1st service, but checking the oil is a real pain

I've had faster cars, but certainly not in this price range. Do not under any circumstances fold the engine. I took 3 hours and a very good mechanic to get us running after it was mis-started by valet parking

It does the job, no break-ins, yet

The Mazda dealers have a lot to learn about customer service

The Mica paint chips very easily and don't go for the exterior extra fins as they corrode quickly. I have had mine replaced several times and they still look awful.

Thirsty at 20mph on average and the continuos checking and filling of oil is tedious. Mazda could have used a bigger oilbox!

I had a few minor problems with the gearbox, not sure if its me or the gearbox. Time will tell

The rust in and around the wheel hubs is a real downer when you look at the car. Mazda head office that this is normal!
