Citroën C5 Hatchback (01-04)

Value

4 out of 5

Base model well equipped.

Costs

3 out of 5

Cheap insurance and road tax. Diesel economy. Main dealer service will no doubt be dear, but balances the equation.

Driving

4 out of 5

Comfy, easy to drive car.

Performance

4 out of 5

HDi quick enough round town. Returns 51mpg at 80 on motorway.

Reliability

4 out of 5

Had a Xantia before. If built as well, can't see any problems.

Different to look at. Does attract looks while people figure out what it is.

Comfort

Comfortable and quiet.

Security

4 out of 5

Hopefully ok. Immoboliser standard across range. Alarm on SX upwards. Radio is linked to engine management, so no code rquired.

Service

4 out of 5

On my 4th Citroen. Tend to use independant dealers when cars out of warranty. C5 comes with 3 year warranty, so 3 years going to main dealer.
