BMW 3-Series Touring (12-19)

Summary

5 out of 5

What does this car say about you?
I enjoy good, subtle ( SE, dark blue, smallest possible wheels, cream leather) quality with solid, exemplary mechanicals. I enjoy good sounding music.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I don't know. I'm not bothered about that really.

Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. It's very good.

What are you likely to buy next?
I'll be 74 when I get my next car so I think I'll get the BMW 4 wheel drive, auto, luxury, 2 litre diesel or petrol.

Buying experience

5 out of 5

Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised

Did you buy this car new?
New

What price did you pay?
£30,044

When did you buy the car?
December 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?
I got a very good deal by using an independent car seller's price to bargain with my local BMW dealer.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I like BMWs and have continued to own them for the past 20 years.

What was the dealer like?
A little choked at the price I pushed for but very good after that.

Driving it

What's it like to drive?
It's a delight to drive in all conditions except, perhaps, in the very slippery. Don't get stuck in mud! It's stunningly fast (very clever gearbox but if I'm not careful I'll loose my licence), sure footed, quiet, relaxing in town and on the motorway. You can sedately give some of the young hatchers a good run for their money. I'm an old grey haired fart and it gives them quite a surprise when they see me.

What's it like to park?
Parking is part of driving. The question seems a little irrelevant.

Living with it

5 out of 5

Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong with the car.

What's most practical about your car?
With care ( I've got cream upholstery) I use it as a real builder's work horse.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
It plays my ipod beautifully through the rather expensive but sharp Harmon Kardon sound system.
