Mitsubishi actually carried out fewer changes in progressing to the Evo IX than when evolving from Evo VIII to Evo VIII MR, however this will be the final development of thieve IX. The visible changes consist of subtle alterations with new front intercooler ducts, a rear under-bumper diffuser, new lights front and rear and a change of wheel design.

Buying used

You'd need to get an Evo VIII if you want used, but it still offers a very similar experience at a significant saving. Just look out for signs of abuse, crash damage or extra modifications.

Not everyone likes the bold looks or could put up with such an extreme driving experience, but there's a loyal band of enthusiasts who aspire to owning this rally icon so it should sell quickly enough as long as it's still sound.
