Used Mercedes-Benz SLK AMG (2012 - 2016) Safety & Reliability

There’s a very long list of standard Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG safety equipment and a range of optional extras available too.

Every single car gets the following: six airbags, an active bonnet (for pedestrian safety), stability control, traction control, a first aid kit, roll-over protection, a tyre pressure monitoring system, Attention Assist (which alerts the driver if it detects fatigued driving), an electric parking brake, automatic headlights, a brake-pad wear indication system and active head restraints.

Optional safety equipment includes the Driving Assistance Package, which includes radar-guided cruise control, Pre-safe brake (which primes seatbelts for impact in the event a crash is detected) and BAS Plus, which primes the brakes in order to prevent or mitigate the effects of an accident.

Additionally you can order a fire extinguisher and automatic windscreen wipers.

We don’t expect you’ll have many problems with Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG reliability. The car uses many tried and tested parts and the previous model didn’t suffer any major recalls. The normal SLK is also very reliable.
