Set to be the best-selling Jaguar of all time, the all-new F-Pace is a critical car for the British brand. It enters the premium SUV market as a rival to some impressive machines, taking on the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and BMW X6, but unlike products from sister company Land Rover it’s been built with more of a sporty road-driving bias that calls the smaller Porsche Macan’s talents into question.

Buying new

There’s an impressive amount of kit on S and First Edition models, but our advice would be to stick with the 2-litre diesel and R-Sport specification. You can always add optional extras to bag any features you’re missing out on and you get the smaller wheels that help the F-Pace ride more comfortably. It’s cheaper to run with this engine as well.

Buying used

If you can find one, a First Edition F-Pace would be the ideal version to sniff out. It’s finished in the metallic blue launch colour and has loads of standard kit.

There’s a lot to go wrong, so ensure you check all electrical systems and features operate as they should.

A high-mileage ex-fleet car might not be a bad buy, however, because they’ll have been maintained regardless of cost so should stand motorway miles without too many dramas.

Ensure you carry out a Parkers Car History Check to uncover any hidden past you need to be aware of.

Selling

The important thing here is to create an advert that includes all the information a buyer will need. We’re expecting a lot of F-Paces for sale and in general it’s a highly specified car with many optional extras, so few cars will be identical. You need to make yours stand out.

Also with that in mind, ensure you take lots of pictures and that they show the car off to the best possible standard.
