Used Hyundai Sonata (2005 - 2010) Safety & Reliability

The Sonata is Hyundai's attempt at a relatively upmarket four-door saloon, but aside from decent equipment levels and a comfortable ride, there's little to recommend it. The anonymous styling along with a cheap feeling interior and forgettable driving experience mean it isn't a desirable choice.

The Sonata scored a respectable four out of five stars in Euro NCAP tests (although there are better scoring rivals for the money). Safety kit includes six airbags, traction control and an electronic stability programme.

Hyundais are usually very reliable and the manufacturer has a great deal of confidence in its cars with an unrivalled warranty package.
