The Hyundai i30 is an excellent all-rounder and a good alternative to more mainstream European and Japanese models. The Hyundai i30 Estate builds on this with a good sized boot, but there's more to it than just load-lugging.

Buying used

Modern Korean cars with improved quality don't depreciate as steeply as they used to and will lose value in line with many mainstream rivals. Therefore there won't be the conspicuous bargains on the used market that there might have been five or 10 years ago. However, all models are well equipped and both petrol and diesel models are good to drive.

There is always demand for estate models from people who need the extra practicality, although the diesel will be favoured more than the petrol version.
