While the Americans love pick-ups trucks, in the UK they still tend to be the preserve of small businesses and tradesmen. The Ram is an extreme pick-up that's enormous and too big for UK roads making it difficult to manoeuvre in town and almost impossible to park in standard parking spaces.

The UK-specification Ram SRT-10 comes with front and side airbags, anti-lock brakes and a Thatcham category one alarm but the centre seat in the rear (and the occasional one in the front) only have lap seatbelts.

Reliability

The Dodge Ram comes with a three-year/60,000-mile warranty, but has relatively short service intervals (6000 miles). The big V10 engine should be unstressed most of the time and there are few complicated electronics on board to go wrong.
