This handsome C5 is a vast improvement on the last car to wear the badge. It's far more sophisticated with a high quality interior, a sharper exterior design and much better build quality. Another change is that this car is a saloon, whereas the old car was a hatchback. It means that it has a more upmarket image, though at the price of practicality. Although this is an all new car, it still carries over some of the old C5's core strengths: excellent diesel engines, good levels of equipment and excellent comfort. Crucially, it's now good enough to be a realistic alternative to models like the Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Insignia.

In July 2012 a facelift saw the introduction of the firm's new family face alongside a raft of new optional extras like sat-nav, new colour schemes and alloy wheels. There's also a new Techno pack available which adds technological features to the C5.

What owners say...

Interior space is very good, can seat 5 full size adults comfortably on long journeys. It also produces a good mpg on the motorway, about 55mpg, driven well.

Its an enormous well equipped and comfortable car, and still gives over 50+ MPG thats a cool 800+ miles per tank of diesel.

It lives outside rain or snow hot or cold. Not many cars can take that. Grip in snow good.
