Used BMW 6-Series M6 Convertible (2012 - 2018) Equipment Review by Tim Bowdler on 20 Aug 2013 Last Updated: 27 Aug 2015 4 The BMW M6 Convertible represents something of a problem for true-blue driving enthusiasts. Awesomely fast, great handling, a fantastic noise and uncompromising looks but… it’s still a convertible. The BMW M6 offers two-zone climate control, heated and multi-adjustable M Sport leather seats with memory function, the M-specific head-up display (that projects vehicle speed, navigation and vehicle warning lights in front of the driver) and sat nav with 10.2-inch colour screen as standard. You also get adaptive LED cornering headlights with auto dip, cruise control, DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, headlight wash, multi-function three-spoke steering wheel, parking distance control, USB connectivity, rain-sensing wipers and auto-dimming rear-view mirror. Of course there's the standard stuff you should expect on a car like including aux-in for MP3 players, an alarm with immobiliser, keyless start, rake-and-reach-adjustable steering, and the standard 19-inch alloy wheels.BMW M6 Convertible accessoriesFor the first time, buyers can choose the optional ceramic brakes. BMW says this new system offers better resistance to heat and therefore offers more braking power. Customers can also opt for 20-inch alloys for an even more aggressive look and add other gizmos such as BMW night vision as well as an all-singing, all-dancing Bang and Olufsen Advanced audio system with six-disc DVD changer. For an extra £5,600 you can go for the full leather upholstery which means there’s leather on the dashboard, doors and pretty much everywhere or you can go for the Comfort Access option that allows you to open the car automatically within a set proximity. We think the £300 Soft-Close doors option is a totally unnecessary expense though.Parkers recommendsWe would recommend absolute restraint on the options but if you have to park your car in the street regularly then the reversing assist camera for around £330 is a worthwhile purchase. A speed limit display for around £250 would be wise such is the performance of the M6 and the wind deflector for about £300 absolutely necessary.
