Despite the limited popularity of the Audi A7, the German manufacturer has seen fit to give the four-door coupe the high-performance makeover with the Audi S7. It joins the long line of S models and is fitted with a new 4.

As this is the top-of-the-range model, the list of standard Audi S7 accessories is comprehensive, while a number of premium and luxury options and finishes are also available. The standard kit includes xenon-plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, drive information system with colour display and Multi Media Interface (MMI) radio, 19-inch alloys, adaptive air suspension and Audi drive select dynamics system.

Options available on the Audi S7 include a variety of different 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels as well as carbon fibre-ceramic brake discs. There are a number of multimedia additions including a Bluetooth online carphone that allows you to connect to the internet in the car. There are a number of different options available for you to customise the interior of the Audi S7 including decorative inlays and as well as the standard aluminium finish.

Carbon, natural fine grain ash and layered Beaufort oak finishes are also on the list. Standard seat upholstery comes in Pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara, though this can be upgraded to Milano and Valcano leather. The Audi S7 is fitted with height-adjustable S sport seats with power lumbar supports as standard. With the high level of standard kit available on the Audi S7, there is little need for adding extra options.

Not only will they increase the price of the car by quite a margin, they may also put off prospective future buyers if you’ve gone for some rather garish combination of leather and wood inlays. Be picky with the added kit too as many of them are unlikely to add true value when it comes to the point of selling the car on. You might want an Audi S7 for the premium luxury or even performance and that will have an effect on which bits of additional kit you opt for.

As well as the added ceramic brakes, customers looking for a bit of a thrill may also want to consider opting for the sport differential, which distributes the engine power in variable proportions between the rear wheels. This powers the outside wheels for greater acceleration when you are coming out of corners and it also helps to eliminate understeer.

If you’ll be spending the majority of your time just chugging along motorways in the UK, however, the standard self-locking centre differential and torque vectoring should be more than enough.
