  • Mazda's Minagi concept points to new design theme
  • Eco technologies featured in SUV crossover
  • Four-seat/four-door Shinari also reflects new design

A new design theme called KODO - Soul of Motion, is featured in Mazda's Minagi concept SUV crossover revealed today.

The concept is the forerunner to the launch of Mazda's next-generation of products and the Japanese car marker says it 'symbolises the evolution of the Mazda brand for a new era'.

So all lovely then, but that's not all.

The Minagi also features Mazda's all-new SKYACTIV technologies that have been developed by the company to 'build harmony between driving pleasure and outstanding environmental and safety performance'.

So it's green, lightweight and nice to drive then.

According to Mazda, the Minagi's KODO design 'evokes a powerful and emotive sense of pent-up energy and vitality that helps the vehicle stand out in a sprawling urban cityscape'.

Which is nice.

In other Mazda news, the Japanese firm also displayed the Shinari concept. This is a four-door, four-seat sports coupe. Again it reflects KODO - so that's a relief.
