The German company’s iconic saloon is probably best known in the form of the BMW 3 Series, but the company’s larger executive saloon arrived three years earlier.
First built in 1972, the current BMW 5 Series saloon launched in 2010, making it the sixth generation 5 Series saloon to date.
The current BMW 5 Series range consists of the BMW 5 Series saloon, the BMW 5 Series Touring (estate), the BMW M5 and the BMW 5-Series GT (stands for ‘Gran Turismo’).
BMW’s sizzling M5 was first introduced in 1984 with the second generation 5 Series. It is a high performance saloon and at the time it was the first production saloon ever made. Ever since, the BMW 5 Series M5 has been a byword for the ultimate in rapid saloons.
