One of the newest nameplates in the firm’s range, the BMW 2 Series is an unusual collection of four models, with one half having little under-the-skin relation to the other.

  • BMW 2-Series Gran Tourer (15 on)
  • BMW 2-Series Coupe (14 on)
  • BMW 2-Series Active Tourer (14 on)
  • BMW 2-Series M2 (16-17)

One of the newest nameplates in the firm’s range, the BMW 2 Series is an unusual collection of four models, with one half having little under-the-skin relation to the other.

Launched in 2014 was the BMW 2 Series coupe, a direct replacement for the 1 Series coupe before it. It still has few direct rivals, although the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 come close in intent.

As with other modern BMWs there’s a range of economical petrol and diesel engines, although crowning the range (for now) is the rapid M235i with a turbocharged 3-litre petrol engine. Power is sent to the rear wheels, with certain models also available with xDrive, BMW’s four-wheels drive system.
