The Audi TT is now in its third generation following the launch of the MK1 in 1998 and the MK2 in 2006. Both predecessors have been hugely successful and Audi will be hoping it can replicate this success with its current line-up.
We first saw the coupe in 1998, followed by the roadster in 1999. Its rounded appearance was quite revolutionary for its time and as a result the original TT has aged very well. The second generation was given a subtle restyling with sharper creases and straighter lines, while the current model is even more aggressive with narrow headlights and angular shoulder line.
Regardless of age, the TT is offered as a “2+2” seater, with a rear bench that is really only suitable for occasional use by children or very slim adults. Rivals like the Volkswagen Scirocco, BMW 2-Series and Peugeot RCZ offer a different mix of boot and rear seat space.
