Based on the ever-fashionable Fiat 500 the Abarth 500 is a hot version of the supermini using turbocharged 1.4-litre engines to provide hot-hatch performance.

Solely available as a three-door model, like its donor car, the Abarth 500 harks back to the Abarth modified 500s of the 1960s – though unlike the vintage cars the modern version has its engine in the front, powering the front wheels.

There are a number of power outputs available for the 1.4-litre unit though, with the standard 500 Abarth originally producing 135bhp, and later cars making 140bhp.
